Welcome! Please read the entire text below as soon as possible after booking your appointment.
Studio
You can find Art&Soul Tattoo at Hallituskatu 22. Restaurant Kopo is located at the end of the building, and Art&Soul is the next business space along. When facing the building from Hallituskatu, the entrance is on the right-hand side of the building, down the passage between Kopo and Itsudemo Sushi.
Our Czech Shepherd, Eddie, is sometimes at the studio. If you are severely allergic to dogs or afraid of dogs, for example, please let us know when booking your appointment. We will do our best to arrange your appointment for a day when Eddie is not at the studio.

Preparing for Your Tattoo Appointment
Please arrive well rested, well fed, and freshly showered. We also kindly ask you to avoid wearing strong fragrances.
Avoid drinking alcohol for at least 24 hours before your tattoo appointment, and please don't come in hungover or intoxicated. Apart from making the tattooing process considerably more painful, alcohol thins the blood, which can cause the skin to bleed more easily and make the tattoo artist's job more difficult.
Wear loose, comfortable, and warm enough clothing that allows easy access to the area being tattooed. Tattoo ink can occasionally splash or stain your clothes, so this probably isn't the day to wear your best clothes. Black is always a safe choice at a tattoo studio! During the winter months, we also recommend bringing a pair of woolly socks.
For 1–2 weeks before your appointment, it's a good idea to moisturize the area being tattooed a few times a day. Healthy, well-moisturized skin makes the tattoo artist's job easier and faster, can make the tattooing process less painful, and helps achieve a smoother, more even result. Any basic moisturizing lotion will do. Make sure you also drink plenty of water during the few days leading up to your appointment, as staying hydrated helps keep your skin in good condition.
If you do weight training or other strength-based exercise, avoid training the area that will be tattooed for 1–2 days before your appointment. Sore or fatigued muscles can make getting tattooed unnecessarily painful.
Avoid excessive sun exposure for at least two weeks before your appointment. Sun exposure dries out the skin, making it more difficult to tattoo and potentially affecting how evenly the tattoo turns out. Sunburned skin cannot be tattooed under any circumstances, as the skin is already inflamed and needs time to heal.
If you have a long appointment booked, please bring some food and snacks with you so your blood sugar doesn't drop during the day. There is a refrigerator at the studio. Please leave children and pets at home, and don't bring other people to the studio unless this has been agreed upon in advance.
We accept cash and most major European consumer debit and credit cards. Payments made with cards issued outside the EU, business cards, or American Express are subject to an additional 2% fee. This covers the additional processing costs charged to the tattoo artist for these types of cards.
Factors That May Prevent or Restrict Tattooing
I do not tattoo…
Anyone under the age of 18. If you look young, please be prepared to provide proof of age at the studio
Anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding
Anyone under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicating substances
Anyone with a blood-borne infectious disease, such as HIV/AIDS or hepatitis
There are also certain medical conditions and medications that may, in some cases, prevent you from getting tattooed. If you have any of the conditions listed below or take any of the medications mentioned, please contact your tattoo artist as soon as possible to discuss this before your appointment.
Medical conditions
Bleeding disorders, such as hemophilia
- Diabetes
- Epilepsy
- Cancer
Certain skin conditions, such as psoriasis or atopic dermatitis/eczema in the area to be tattooed
Heart failure or other heart conditions
Other medical conditions that increase the risk of bleeding or affect the body's ability to heal wounds
Medications
Blood-thinning medications (anticoagulants), such as Marevan
Medications used to treat cancer
Immunosuppressive medications
Medications used to treat acne, such as Roaccutane
Other medications that affect blood clotting or increase the risk of bleeding
Other medications that affect the body's ability to heal wounds
Please note that some over-the-counter painkillers and anti-inflammatory medications may increase bleeding during tattooing. These include aspirin and ibuprofen (e.g. Burana). If possible, please avoid taking these for 24 hours before your tattoo appointment.
Omega-3 supplements may also increase the tendency to bleed, so we recommend stopping their use at least one week before your appointment.
Aftercare Instructions
You can find the tattoo aftercare instructions here
Touch-Up Guarantee
All tattoos fade over time. However, if your tattoo loses significantly more pigment than would normally be expected during the first few months, or if it heals unevenly, a touch-up is included in the original price.
The touch-up guarantee is valid for six (6) months. After this period, any touch-ups will be charged at the tattoo artist's standard hourly rate.
If the tattoo fades or heals poorly due to improper aftercare, sun exposure, scratching, or similar causes, the tattoo artist is not obligated to touch it up free of charge. In these cases, any touch-up work will be charged at the tattoo artist's standard hourly rate.
Hygiene and Risks
A fresh tattoo is essentially a large open wound and, like any other wound, there is a risk of infection. At our studio, we ensure that all equipment and supplies are either single-use or properly cleaned and disinfected. All needles, grips, ink caps, gloves, cable covers, and similar supplies are disposable and discarded after each use. The tattoo chair and armrests are covered and disinfected between every client.
However, we cannot control what happens once you leave the studio. For this reason, following the proper aftercare instructions is extremely important.
We only use tattoo inks purchased directly from authorized importers and made by reputable manufacturers whose products are considered safe. Although modern tattoo inks are generally very safe, mild allergic reactions can occasionally occur. Unfortunately, it is practically impossible to predict who may experience an allergic reaction.
If you know that you have particularly sensitive skin or are allergic to a specific pigment or colorant, please let your tattoo artist know in advance. This allows us to look into suitable ink options for you before your appointment.
